IPS Global Directory dramatically expands IP Phone directory features and interfaces. IP Phone users will now find in IPS Global Directory all contacts in the company - even those served by other PBX facilities. IP Phone users may also find partners, distributors, customers, and other lists of useful phone numbers. They may use up to five selectable fields for their queries and retrieve extra information on contacts, as defined by administrator. They will then automatically dial, by choosing among the phone numbers listed for each contact.

IPS Global Directory works as a Virtual Directory by implementing multi-threaded queries on several source directories. These directories may be : Active Directory, Exchange, Notes, CallManager DC Directory, Alcatel 4400 PBX, LDAP server, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Access, Excel, XML or text files. Phone numbers may be formatted as defined by administrator.

IPS Global Directory may be run either from the IP Phone Directory button or from the IP Phone Service menu. The IP Phone user may execute a global search or select a specific target directory.

To search for a phone number, the IP Phone user types the first characters of the last name, first name, department, company, … of the desired contact and will then retrieve a list of contacts matching the search criteria.The search may be narrowed by adding more characters. The user will then dial directly by selecting the contact or by selecting the phone number listed per contact. The user may also list all phone numbers for quick access or urgent phone numbers.

He may also display detailed information on contacts (function, department, location, …).

With the Web Directory module, the user may also query the defined target directories through a Web interface. He will then dial by clicking on the phone number. The user configuration is saved on the server once, and the user is authenticated by the Windows login, user host, MAC address, a URL parameter or a cookie.

The administrator is equipped with a user-friendly Web interface to define source directories, search criteria, sort order, distinct fields, result lists and format details.

IPS Global Directory administration is available in English and French.

IP Phone user interface is available in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian.
